Isn't their stark look so stylish and era-perfect? Love their white dresses with embriodery and unusual hemline, ankle-strap black shoes and mop-haircuts. Don't miss the 2 non-identical twins in stripes socks!

notes from Russia

It was a delight to see so many kids on excursions exploring art museums, churches and architectural landmarks in St. Petersburg, Lavra and Moscow. Equally delightful was their choices in hairstyles, hair scarves & colour palette. Here are some sartorial notes from Russian kids :)

The Church of Our Savior on Spilled Blood in St. Petersburg - documenting mosaic art and making sure her beautiful hair doesn't interfere. Intricate hair do with 2 side braids and 1 big braid.

School kids with their teachers at State Tretyakov Gallery. Wearing interesting braids woven together. Details such as part french braids add style to neat hairstyles for long hair.

High ponytail, low ponytail, side ponytail, fish braid and others - all marching towards the Tretyakov Art Gallery.

Starting young. Like mother, like daughters. On a tour to see the architecture & history at The Kremlin.

Traditional way to wear scarves while visting orthodox churches at the Sergiev Posad (Lavra) — at Old Katholikon of the Trinity Lavra.

Bright & tight. Outside one of the churches at the Sergiev Posad (Lavra) — at Old Katholikon of the Trinity Lavra.

This little one decieded to wear the scarf like a bandana. All set to see painted wooden panels at the Sergiev Posad (Lavra) — at Old Katholikon of the Trinity Lavra.

Walking with the times. Carretto Siciliano fashion on a chic dress, at the Kremlin.

Young art enthusiasts with animal bags - to carry back home some art stationary :)at The Pushkin State Museum of Fine Arts.

Sliding with some church art inspiration. Animal face fashion at the Sergiev Posad (Lavra) — at Old Katholikon of the Trinity Lavra.

Carrying off folk embroidery with so much cuteness! At The Pushkin State Museum of Fine Arts.
